IWAS Athletics Series Regulations 2010


Starting point is athletics competitions in track and field for athletes in classes T&F 40’s and 50’s

  •  Field for class  40/42/44/46 shot put discus  javelin
  •  Track for class  42/44/46 100 meter 800(F)/1500(M) meter
  •  Track for class  51/52/53/54 100 meter 800(F)/1500(M) meter 
  •   Field for class 51 – 58 shot put discus  javelin

Point score for each event based on performances (re-calculated to the current point-score system), so first performances in track and field calculating to point score, then make a ranking and based on the ranking the following points are given:

 That means no fast or slow track, rain, wind or something that can have influence on the results influences the point score, just the result

To obtain an overall ranking an athlete has to join 4 competitions and the final

The organizer who wants to join the IWAS Athletics Series must offer to the athletes good value for money.

  • Electronic timing
  • Wind measurement for sprint and long jump
  • Track and field competition according the IPC/IWAS Athletics Rulebook and Regulations.
  • Good accommodation and food available for low cost or even for free
  • Local transport if possible for free
  • Working together with other organizers and offering transport to the next competition
  • Each organizer can invite individual athletes to join their competition and pay an amount of travel cost and or accommodation.
  • Each organizer has to set a participation fee for the athletes, per individual event or for the whole competition.
  • Each organizer has to ask for IWAS sanction of the competition by completing the attached application form and accept the Technical delegate and classifiers recommended by IWAS and approved by IPC.
  • Each organizer has to pay a 1,000 Euro contribution to the overall prize money
  • Each organizer has to take care that doping control will be at the competition

 As of today’s date, the current overall schedule of events is as follows:

  • 1 May Avignon (FRA) International track and field meeting
  • 22, 23 May Pula (CRO)  Croatian Open championships all classes in track and field
  • 29, 30 May Emmen (NED) Dutch Open Championships for all classes in track and field
  • 6 June Stadskanaal (NED) international track and field meeting for all IWAS classes
  • 9 June Leverkusen (GER) international track and field meeting
  • 11, 12, 13 June Bottrop (GER)  German Open Championships all classes in track and field
  • 19, 20 June Stoke Mandeville (GBR) International meeting in track and field

  
IWAS office is the central point to coordinate the IWAS series

  • Collecting the sanction application forms and sanction fee* and coordinate this with IPC athletics, (which will mean that all results will also be in the IPC ranking and valid for qualification standards).
  • Collecting the 1000 euro prize money from each member organizer
  • Collecting the results from each competition.
  • Calculating the points for ranking in the current IWAS series.
  • Distributing the prize money to the athletes after the last competition
