Entitlements
Entry into International Events
Each Full National Member Nation may enter members of its organisation in international events coming within the jurisdiction of IWAS. Providing that the member complies with the conditions stated in the invitation to compete.
Events such as the Junior and World Games or the Sport Specific Athletics series and Wheelchair Fencing World Cups.
General Assemblies and Sport Assemblies
Full National Membership also permits for each Nation to send two delegates to the Biennial General Assembly of Nations and the Biennial meeting of Sport Assembly if they participate in that specific sport.
Each Nation has one vote at the General Assemblies and Sport Assemblies.
A Full National Membership Nation may also propose Motions concerning the general developments of sport for athletes with a disability through the General Assembly of Nations. And can also propose Motions concerning sport specific technical rules, development and management through the Sport Assembly of Nations.
Nominations
A Full Membership also entitles each Nation Member to nominate a representative for election to the IWAS Executive Board and Standing Committees.
Eligibility and Criteria for Full National Membership
- Each Country may have only ONE member organisation
- That member organisation must have an established programme in sport for persons with a physical disability.
- They should have similar aims and objectives to those of IWAS
- The member organisation should be a National Disability Sports Organisation/NPC or officially recognised by their national government.
Fee
- The Full National Membership is paid annually and is due within the first 100 days of the fiscal year.
- There are four levels of payment which are decided upon by the IWAS Executive Board.
- The level that each Nation should pay is decided upon by the World Bank List of Global Economics (tiered in accordance with recognised financial status)
