Bids received from Spain and Puerto Rico

Late last year IWAS announced that the IWAS Junior World Games was awarded to the city of Olomouc in the Czech Republic after there was some a last minute stumbling block with our other bids.

Taking place in Central London, the event will bring together athletes and officials from previous Paralympic Games to share stories and celebrate their accomplishments while, at the same time, taking in action from London 2012.

During the IWAS World Games the local organising committee produced a daily newsletter, with articles from the history of the IWAS Games to results and interviews with those involved.

The second day of competition has not disappointed as more World Records were being set this time on the track and field events.

The first day at the IWAS World Games 2011 in Sharjah, was quick to heat up and demonstrated an action packed schedule of events.

Sharjah has started to see the arrival of many athletes and officials as the Althiqah Club in the U.A.E put in their final preparations for the hosting of the IWAS World Games.
